Bargain and sale, 1641, June 7. 17 Charles I.

Bargain and sale by (1) Mary Brooke, widow and relict of George Brooke, late of Aspall (Suff.), esq., deceased, Mary Warren of the parish of All Hallowe Barkinge (London), widow, being two of the sisters of Nicholas Marshall, esq., deceased, Mary Waklyn, late wife and executrix of Nicholas Waklyn, late citizen and barber-surgeon of London, in consideration of £2900, and John Bode of Davington (Kent) in consideration of 12d., to (2) William Stebbing the younger of Erle Soham (Suff.), gentleman, and Henry Stebbing of Wissett (Suff.), gentleman, of the manor of Bedingham in Ockolt, alias Occold, parcel of the possessions of the late monastery of St. John's nigh Colchester, the advowson of the church of Ockolte, and messuages, lands, etc., thereto belonging; and also land called "Thrumboldes"; and 2 closes, etc., now in the occupation of Robert Keene; all of which premises were conveyed from John Dassett unto the said Nicholas Marshall in his lifetime, Giles brown, esq., and the said John Bode for valuable considerations from the said Nicholas Marshall, the said Giles Brown, and John Bode being trustees for the last-named; and the rights of Nicholas Marshall being acquired by the said Mary Brooke, Mary Warren, and Mary Wlakyn: with a proviso that if the grantee does not pay to the three latter the futher sum of £1450 by or on 7 December next, then this deed shall be void and of no effect. Note on dorse of receipt of the stipulated sum in 2 payments on 6 and 7 December 1641 of Dr. Hacket, rector of St. Andrew's, Holborn.
